Borders > Design & SEO

Most of the sections in the theme share a couple of settings, that are covered here:

Section heading

An optional setting, giving you the possibility to write an introduction / title for the section. You can also specific a heading tag for SEO purposes, to help give the page a proper structure.

The design of the this heading is the same througought the theme and can be set in the Theme Settings.

Sections that have this option: Blog posts, Buttons, Collection list, Content toggles, Featured collection, Featured product, Image, Article comments, Cart recommendations, Collection description, Collection navigation, Product recommendations, Promotion blocks, Rich text, Rotating images, Scrolling images, Shop the look, Testimonials, Text columns with icons, Text columns with images, Video.

Section footer

Some sections have a footer option, where you can put a "call to action" button, either to a page, a collection, a product, etc.

The section footer is also used for slider navigation, where it is present and set to appear there.

Sections that have this option: Blog posts, Collection list, Content toggles, Featured collection, Cart recommendations, Collection navigation, Product recommendations, Promotion blocks, Shop the look, Testimonials, Text columns with icons, Text columns with images.

Section design

This will refer to the main section color scheme (with or without some options). In most cases where the section has inner grid elements, there will be another option to set a custom color scheme for the inner elements as well.

One more option in this area is the "hide section bottom border", which will hide the last border of the section, helpful in cases where you have a contrasting background color for the section.

Another option might also be the "hide inner padding" which will make a normally boxed section go fullwidth.

Inner content design

As written above, this will refer to the blocks inside the section, and based on the section's design, it can have one or more options. Sections such as the Rich blocks or Rich text have the most options here, being the most versatile. Some sections (such as Rich text) will have a separate color scheme for the entire section here, while other sections (such as Rich blocks) will have unique color scheme options for each individual block. It all depends on the section's style and customizability level.

SEO

Last common setting is the SEO (Heading tag) option, which gives you the ability to change heading tags in a lot of places, creating a proper page structure with headings going from H1 to H4. In some sections you will see an option for the entire section, in other sections you will see an option at block level, while for a few sections you will be able to set multiple heading tags inside the same place.

Use these carefully and make sure that you put all headings in order.

We are no SEO experts, but this could be an example of a proper structure:

HOMEPAGE

H1 - the first title of the first slide (as an introduction for your page)

H2 - use this for the headings of your sections

H3 - use this for any heading inside a section or as block titles within sections

H4 - without too much content you probably won't reach this level, but you could still use such headings for content inside the footer

REGULAR PAGE

H1 - in all other pages, the page title is automatically a H1 element, meaning that you should only use H2 - H4 headings
